Workshop.MOV
Our in-house intensives are uniquely designed to give students a glimpse into to the world of professional dancing, offer them a leg up in their competitive training, and inspire them to embrace their passions in the studio and beyond. Incorporating both on camera and live performance classes into the curriculum is an unparalleled opportunity for dancers to be taken to the next level. Studios may customize their workshop experience by choosing a unique lineup of classes from the Styles page, with each of these offering age-appropriate modifications at Mini, Junior, Teen, Senior, and Adult levels. For the optimal experience we recommend our 3 day, 12 class template, however Workshop.MOV can always be molded to fit your studio’s unique needs!
Our Goal
Workshop.MOV is geared towards creating dancers who are skilled beyond the steps. We care about more than just filling their repertoire with fancy tricks and cool moves - we want to teach them the power of intentional choices that make an impact.
To emphasize the value of being a smart dancer, we have curated specialized elements such as On Camera and Live Performance classes, training in niche styles, and providing teachers who are world-class working dancers and creatives. We want students to start asking themselves deeper questions such as: Who is your audience, how are they observing you, and how can you most effectively reach them? Can you think quickly on your feet to reverse steps or change formations?
By training dancers’ brains along with their bodies, these lessons will follow our students into all areas of their lives for years to come. The best way to learn is by doing, so our biggest goal is to empower students to just start .MOVing.
Mentors
Our faculty members are on the cutting edge of the dance world. They have each used an intersection of versatility and autonomy to carve their unique paths, proving that being adaptable while still staying true to yourself will cultivate your greatest successes. .MOV Mentors are dedicated to helping students discover and harness their own originality, as well as encouraging them to use that spark to fuel passions in all areas of their lives.
Most importantly, all of our staff members are background checked SafeSport trained, ensuring students the safe and supportive environment that every person deserves to learn in. With years of teaching experience in recreational, competitive, and professional settings, our teachers are ready to meet each individual class at the dancers’ level and encourage them to grow from where they’re at.
Diverse Training
We provide live performance and on camera training in a wide variety of styles to encourage exploration, versatility, and individuality. Our faculty members are all experts in their fields, as well as living proof that there are an infinite number of paths that can take you to reach your dreams. Whether you break the norms by choreographing tutting performances for rockstars like Kat, doing fouette turns live with Mariah Carey like Tommy, or assisting the production of major world tours with multi-media knowledge like Leo, there are endless ways to share your unique talents with the world.
The Show
Workshop.MOV offers the opportunity to end your intensive with a celebratory community show to share all of the incredible progress that has been achieved by the students. Here, our dancers get to present what they’ve learned to the audience by showcasing the work that was filmed during their On Camera Class, as well as performing the set they rehearsed in their Live Performance Class. Sprinkled in between the students work will be live performances and cinematic pieces created and danced by none other than our wonderful faculty members.
