Walker Ucherek

Walker is a LA-based cinematographer and dancer originally from Dallas, Texas. He studied Musical Theater in college, then moved to NYC to complete the renowned Broadway Dance Center Professional Semester, and kickstarted his career behind the lens as well. In 2023 Walker followed job opportunities to the west coast and made the move to Los Angeles.

Through his short time in the dance industry, Walker has had the opportunity to work alongside some of the industry’s most renowned choreographers such as Alexander Chung, Brian Friedman, Janelle Ginestra, Derek Hough, and Dee Glazer. His theater credits include Pippin, Bright Star, and Oklahoma, and he has also performed live with artists like bbno$, Miss Peppermint and Natascha Bessez. He has filmed and edited social media campaigns for songs like “Dance Alone” and “Gimme Love” by SIA, “The Greatest Show” from The Greatest Showman, “Bassist” by MEMI, and “Ganeni” by Elyanna.

As an artist, Walker has a passion for creating art that provokes reflection and provides audiences a source of emotional stimulation outside of the stresses of everyday life. Utilizing his experience as a performer gives him a greater understanding of how to capture his subjects as a cinematographer, and highlight them in the best ways possible.

“Dancing for camera is an integral part of out industry. Whether it be for something as small as social media, or as big as a feature film, being comfortable in front of the camera is a key part of having a successful career as a dancer. I hope that through my class I will make dancing in front of the camera something that everyone looks forward to. Even if you are not 100% confident in the steps while being filmed you should still be excited to have a video to document your progress and/or learn from watching yourself!” - Walker Ucherek
