βIn my class, I aim to create an environment where students not only feel seen and safe to explore new pathways but also challenging enough to push them to their physical limits. Through my jazz funk choreography, I strive to strike a balance that allows technically trained students to feel at home with the heavy emphasis on jazz technique, while also introducing dynamics and speed characteristic of jazz funk to elevate the challenge. My ultimate goal is for students to surprise themselves by discovering their true capabilities, fostering a fearless attitude towards tackling the material. By engaging with the intricacies of dance vocabulary and pushing their physical boundaries, students leave the class with a profound understanding of their abilities and a newfound confidence in their craft.β - Abbygale Chung
